Kazaa Lite Resurrection is a continuation of the notorious Kazaa Lite K++ client. Resurrection picks up where Kazaa Lite K++ was left, after Sharman Networks shut down the Kazaa Lite K++ project. Kazaa Lite Resurrection, also called KLR for short, offers updated and new tools, for the current times. It also integrates the latest ideas and support that a user would need.

Kazaa Lite Resurrection has been very well received by the file sharing community for trying to keep Kazaa Lite widely available, free of charge, without any malware, spyware or adware included. It has even been featured on U.S. national TV on the popular TechTV TV show. You can see the KLR TechTV video here. It has also been featured in various freeware software magazines around the world.

You can install Kazaa Lite Resurrection on top of any Kazaa Lite K++ / Kazaa Lite Resurrection installation. That way all your settings will be remembered. If you experience any problems, it is recommended to do a clean installation. You can change the location of "My Shared Folder" to whatever folder you want in the options menu.

The minimum system requirements are Internet Explorer 4, Windows Media Player 6.4 and Visual Basic Runtime Files 6.

If Kazaa Lite Resurrection doesn't work on a different user account from the one you installed it on, run the userfix.reg file, which is located in the Kazaa Lite Resurrection program directory, on the user account that can't run KLR.

These are the differences between Kazaa Lite Resurrection (KLR) and Kazaa Media Desktop (KMD):

• No bundled third-party software, no adware or spyware
• No bitrate limits for MP3 files
• Customized startup page (can be changed to anything you want)
• More times "Search more" is possible instead of just once
• Multi-source downloads now have more than 8 simultanious sources
• "Find more sources" is possible once every 1 minute per file (instead of 10)
• Participartion Level is set at a constant 1000 (can be disabled)
• People to which you upload can't cut in line anymore regardless of their Participation Level, this improves the number of completed uploads and takes away the advantage that cheaters have
• Options to completely disable the usage of port 1214
